Start with the idea the clip needs to deliver

A livestream mixes conversation, pauses, chat replies, and moments that only make sense to people who watched everything. A clip needs to offer a clear idea to someone who just arrived. Before analyzing the recording, decide what you are looking for: an explanation, a story with an ending, a demonstration, or an answer to a recurring question.

Prepare the link or file and connect Companion

Start with a compatible video link or a file. Open Companion on Windows to prepare media and transcribe it locally. Keep the computer on and check available space; a long recording needs more preparation than a short clip. AI analysis happens remotely from the transcript, so the complete workflow is not offline.

For Twitch, downloads for transcription and clip preparation happen through the local Companion. If it is missing or incompatible, open or update the app and check the site's connection before continuing. A video playing on the platform does not guarantee that its media is ready for processing.

Analyze with a goal and watch your credits

Prefer a concrete goal, such as finding complete explanations of a technique, over a generic request for interesting moments. While reviewing the transcript, watch names, technical terms, and overlapping speech: one error can change a suggestion's meaning. AI works from text and may miss a silent visual reaction or the importance of something on screen.

The first AI analysis uses 1 credit per analyzed minute, rounded up: 12 minutes and 10 seconds cost 13 credits. The second and third analyses of the same video are free when the clip is no longer than the original analysis. From the fourth onward, billing returns to per-minute. New accounts get 60 credits. Importing, transcribing, editing, and exporting do not consume analysis credits. Check the cost before confirming, especially with long livestreams.

Review the beginning, context, and ending of each suggestion

Watch a few seconds before and after every candidate. A beginning such as “that is why I did it” depends on what came before. Include the context you need or discard the clip. At the end, let the answer finish: cutting off a qualification can turn a careful opinion into a claim the speaker never made.

Compare the suggested text with audio and video. Check that the main speech is clear, that the topic matches the brief, and that the selection does not repeat another clip. Prefer a few complete moments to several versions of the same sentence. An AI score or suggestion supports review; it does not guarantee reach or virality.

Check the final version before publishing

When editing, preserve the visual elements needed to understand the speech. In a demonstration, a crop that is too tight can hide what is being explained. If you use captions, review names and timing. Play the exported file from start to finish to check picture, sound, and ending instead of relying only on the editor preview.

If media access fails, check the recording's availability and Companion's status before repeating the analysis. Removed or restricted VODs can stop the workflow. Keep an authorized copy when available and record which moments you already reviewed to avoid rework in the next session.
