Separate the link, preview, and media used in the clip

Adding a link identifies the recording you want to work on. The preview lets you check the content, but preparing media for transcription or editing is a separate step. Watching a video in a browser therefore does not prove that the app can prepare that VOD. Availability and source restrictions can affect the workflow.

Start with a recording you own or are authorized to use and confirm that the link points to the right video. Twitch, YouTube, and Kick follow different playback paths in Viral Booster. Understanding that difference helps locate a failure without repeating analyses or looking for an export button while the media is still unprepared.

Twitch and YouTube use official previews

Twitch and YouTube previews use their official embedded players. They help you check the recording and selected moments, subject to each platform's playback conditions. If a preview fails, check that the recording still opens at the source and whether access is restricted. Do not assume every public VOD supports every step.

For Twitch, you need the local Companion to download transcription audio and prepare or download clips. Open the Windows app and update it when the site reports incompatibility. Then check the site's connection to continue. Even if the official preview works, keep Companion open while media is prepared.

Kick playback depends on local HLS

Kick's workflow uses local HLS through Companion. HLS is a way to play video from a sequence of small segments. Here, that means the local app connection is part of source preparation and playback. Make sure it is open and updated when you see a message that the local player is unavailable.

If the video does not load, first check whether the recording is available and then check the Companion connection. An unavailable source is not fixed by requesting another AI analysis. Do not close the app during preparation and confirm that the step is complete before reviewing clips.

Follow the preparation, analysis, and review sequence

You can also start with an authorized file when that is the available source. Companion on Windows prepares media and transcribes locally; AI analysis uses the transcript remotely to suggest moments. Do not treat this as fully offline or confuse text suggestions with a complete assessment of everything that happens visually.

The sequence separates local preparation, analysis, and editorial review. If one step fails, fix the source or connection before requesting another analysis to preserve credits and avoid rework.

Avoid rework and distinguish the costs

The first AI analysis costs 1 credit per analyzed minute, rounded up: 8 minutes and 20 seconds equal 9 credits. The second and third analyses of the same video are free for clips no longer than the original analysis. From the fourth onward, billing returns per minute. New accounts receive 60 credits. Importing, transcribing, editing, and exporting do not consume analysis credits; checking a playback problem does not by itself require another analysis.

Save the source link and an authorized copy when available. Before publishing, check that the clip preserves meaning, that audio is clear, and that the title matches the speech. No suggestion guarantees virality. VOD availability can change, and a playback that worked once is not a promise of permanent access.
